Of course, there\nare paths for every comfort level, but in case you have been wondering about\nhow this lifestyle will look like on you, we thought best you should know a\nthing or two about its myths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Multitasking\nis a mirage&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s\nthis most sought after characteristic we all like to possess and that is doing\nmore than a thing or two at the same time. Multitasking sometimes is seen as a\nbadge of honor and we would even mention it in our job interviews. But what if\nyou realize that only 2% of the global population in the entire world can be\nmultitaskers! You probably would say \u201cI am among that two percent\u201d but no\noffense, you are probably not, and that\u2019s a good thing. According to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/2012\/08\/13\/multitasking-infographic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recent study<\/a>, only\n2% of people can multitask successfully and the remaining 98% are lessening\ntheir productivity without even realizing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, now\nthat the true colors of multitasking have been shown, what does it have to do\nwith becoming a freelancer and how can one consider it when choosing a nomadic\nmanner? Well, you might lose the chance of being productively creative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just\nbecause you can spare your own time for doing your job remotely, doesn\u2019t mean\nthat you can make more time for doing any other thing relatively accomplishing.\nThere comes a time when you should be willing to choose your battle and stick\nwith it even though there are other callings in your life. If you haven\u2019t found\nand prioritized it yet, then don\u2019t quit your 9 to 5 job and jump off the cliff,\nfor you may crash the invisible office glass of freelancing. After all, we all\nneed to make a living and it\u2019s not quite mature to switch gears in the corner\nnot knowing how high you should shoot for reaching the destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What\nto believe instead?&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freelancing\nis like any other job that should be taken seriously under what you are\npromising to deliver to the clients. So, you should take carefully crafted\nmeasures on how to keep that promise so that it doesn\u2019t tarnish your reputation\nand work ethics. And is only achieved if you are on the track of your job with\nconcentration and a great sense of responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou&#8217;re considering to do freelancing, don\u2019t quit your 9 to 5 job. Instead,\ncommit a portion of your free time to your passion project. And in case you&#8217;re\nsaying it is not possible with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/winatalent.com\/blog\/2019\/12\/work-life-balance-a-dream-come-true-or-an-illusion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">workload and other life\nresponsibilities<\/a>, we would like to\ninform you of a valid statistic; before that, know your currency is time and\nenergy, therefore, everything you delegate to will be put back into that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take\ntwo hours of your week off your schedule. That 9 hours a month! Look at it\nthrough the year; we are talking about a hundred hours in a year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\nwould it give you if someone would say \u201chere are 100 hours a year, do anything\nyou want\u201d? Though the global village has kept the promise of\naccessibility and there is an acceptance to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/winatalent.com\/blog\/2019\/12\/global-freelancing-how-to-manage-time-zone-difference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">challenges of different time zones\nin remote working<\/a>, telecommunication is\nnot the key answer for all your freelancing needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One\nissue with digital forms of communication is that they tend to be impersonal.\nMoreover, trying to make your digital communications seem more friendly or\npersonalized runs the risk of being misinterpreted or viewed as unprofessional.\nSo, while it is impossible to deny the importance of these platforms and the\nway that they have revolutionized communication, it is important to balance\nthese online interactions with face-to-face communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What\nto think instead?&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Face-to-face\ncommunication adds the \u201cpersonal touch\u201d and is much more important to\nfreelancers who are dealing with outside clients. Know that a sense of\ncommunity comes with the ability to interact and socialize. This sets the foundation\nfor trust and ultimately creates a better working relationship. Though\nface-to-face communication is not always an option due to distance or\nconflicting schedules, you mustn\u2019t forget about it completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tip to consider hoisting your flag in the right direction in landing a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/winatalent.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">freelancing job<\/a>&nbsp;is having a ritual for doing your everyday tasks and harmonizing the way you interact with your clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whenever\npossible, take the time to communicate with your colleagues face-to-face and\nenjoy the benefits.
